Chris Weber, president of Nokia USA, revealed today to Bloomberg that Nokia’s Rolling Thunder operation would bring a wide range of devices, experiences, and price points across operators to the U.S.A. “We will be launching a portfolio of devices in the U.S. across a range of price points, user experience and operators,” said Weber. He detailed that the operation is being called inside of Nokia’s headquarters as “operation rolling thunder.” Today’s announcement of the Nokia Lumia 710 with T-Mobile is just the beginning of Nokia’s strategy, Nokia is expected to announce higher-ended devices by early 2012. Although the date of these announcements is not known, it is possible to expect announcements at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, January 10-13th. Nokia got prime real estate at CES, as I reported a few weeks ago. Weber confirms this, “we’ll have a very large presence and it’ll be clear that Nokia is back in a quite strong way in the U.S.” Maybe then we’ll see more of what Nokia has to offer in the United States.
