Believe it or not, Mango does support tethering out of the box; that is, if both manufacturer and/or carrier want to leave it as a feature. Nokia decided not to offer tethering on the Lumia 800. However, Nokia has officially announced that they will allow this feature in the future and will add it through a software update. In fact, Nokia is already “diligently” working in bringing this update to users. Nokia didn’t add this feature because they “wanted to meet requirements” set by agencies like the FCC in the U.S, probably enabling this simple feature would have taken time and delayed the Lumia 800 release. Not many people have the Lumia right now, but it’s nice that Nokia is already planning on updating us with new features!
