I find it completely unbelievable that Nokia could have screwed up something as important as the Lumia 900 release. This should be the day when fans and customers pile up in front of AT&T stores waiting for the new phone, while the media makes a big deal about it, thus, attracting more customers.
I don’t know what happened, but seems like Nokia didn’t realize its Easter, and stores in the U.S close for this holiday. I thought it was a bit odd after I called by local AT&T stores to check whether I could go and pick up a Lumia 900, that all of them played an automated message saying the same thing “in observance of this holiday, AT&T stores will be closed…” I thought it wasn’t a big deal, I don’t live in a metropolitan area, so it’s expected for stores to be closed. But then I read this, and was surprised that not even Manhattan AT&T stores were opening for the Lumia 900 release!
How could this have happened? Nokia might have done a great job making some noise about the 900 at Times Square with Nicki Menaj, but why couldn’t the 900 go on sale Friday or Saturday? It’s a big gaffe, Nokia.
