Things have been slow with Nokia lately, they have been very quiet and mostly low-mid end handsets have been announced – since almost a year ago. But I am sure things are about to change, there is MeeGo coming at the end of the year, and of course, some interesting Symbian^3 handsets like this one!
The C7 has been around now for a while, but nothing was known about this device. Today a Chinese poster leaked with the new Nokia C7 in it’s middle, along with some hints to what this device might bring along. The C7 will be Nokia’s second Symbian^3 handset. It is clear that the C7 is well positioned below the Nokia N8, but the C7 has some impressive specifications for being a mid-end handset. The Nokia C7 will have an 8 Megapixel Camera, and will be able to take video @720p HD! The C7 is finally the first mid-end device from Nokia sporting a capacitive screen. This in my opinion is a huge leap forward from mid-end devices like the C6 and 5800 in which the resistive screen damages the user experience. The Nokia C7 will have a 3.3” screen, likely an LCD screen, but we wouldn’t be surprised to find an AMOLED screen in the upcoming C7. Other specifications are: 3G, 3.5mm Jack, microSD, nHD resolution, Multi-Touch and a just 11mm thick body. This is also a new one for Nokia because they love to design bulky handsets, the 5800 is the most clear example.
I am excited about the just leaked C7. It is of course not a phone for me, but if the C7 will feature all those specs at a smart price, I will be very happy to recommend it to friends and family. The screen of this device, together with Symbian^3 and a just 11mm thick body might make this device a winner in the mid-segment of the market.
