Nokia has said it more than one time: they are not selling their smartphone division to Microsoft. These rumors have rised due to a particular Russian blogger who used to have the insight into Nokia’s plans, reviewing and leaking devices well ahead of announcement. However, Nokia put a stop to this Russian blogger two years ago. Since then, he hasn’t leaked any Nokia device ahead of launch. His credibility remains though, and last week he sent a tweet claiming that Microsoft and Nokia would talk in Las Vegas to finish the sale.
Well, from what we saw at CES, Nokia is having success and has a well defined plan for the upcoming months. In a recent interview with PCMag, Elop was straight out questioned about the sale, to which he replied: “As we’ve described it before, the rumors are baseless, and some people who seem to enjoy generating rumors are running out of fresh material, so it seems to have come up again. I have nothing else to say.” Let’s move on shall we? This rumored should not be discussed again.
